Frequently asked questions

To give you the quickest service possible, we can answer the most frequently asked questions here.
Should you not find your question, we will of course give you the answer personally. Just drop us a line.

Will I receive the €0.03 CHP bonus when I use the nareCon 1000?

You will definitely receive the €0.03 CHP bonus for the heat used in the nareCon 1000. The nareCon 1000 complies with all the legal requirements.
An environmental experts and the energy supplier can confirm this fact.
narema GmbH can supply the certification required for payment of the CHP bonus from the environmental expert. Therefore you are on the safe side.

Can I retain my existing heat concept under the previous law?

As far as we know, you can still obtain the €0.02 CHP bonus for your existing heat concept.
For the heat required by the nareCon 1000, a separate heat meter must be used. The heat used for the nareCon 1000 attracts the €0.03 bonus.

Can we now expect a lot of paperwork?

No. The approvals required (in accordance with German acts on emissions or construction) will be handled by us, if legally permissible. An engineering company, well-versed in approval procedures, will take on this task for us to ensure everything runs smoothly. When signing the contract, we just need a few documents from you (e.g. site plans, existing approval documentation).
We'll do all the rest for you.

How much time will I have to invest in operating the nareCon 1000?

The time you require to operate the nareCon 1000 is easy to combine with the work you do on the biogas plant. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include checking the plant, lubricating the separator, refilling minerals and if necessary storing ammonium sulphate, calcium carbonate and the solids generated.

Can I switch off my nareCon 1000?

The nareCon 1000 is only connected via the flue gas pipe and the digestate storage facility and can therefore be switched off without any negative effects.

What size of plant makes it worthwhile purchasing the nareCon 1000?

With a 700 kW electrical biogas facility, you can expect a return on your investment in approx. 2 to 3 years.
Use the calculator on our homepage to work out your own figures.

Can I operate several nareCon 1000s in larger biogas plants?

Yes. Depending on the layout of the CHP, erecting several nareCon 1000s is even an advantage.
We are currently working on a space-saving solution for bigger facilities. Please contact us.

Why is the nareCon 1000 environmentally friendly?

The nareCon 1000 improves your carbon footprint in a number of different ways: On the one hand 1 - 2 % of the CO2 produced in the CHP during fertiliser production is absorbed.
On the other hand, due to a more than 50% cut in the quantity of digestate distributed, much less CO2 is emitted during road transport.
We can show you a current expert report on the CO2 footprint here. You can also work out your own CO2 footprint: On the ecological success factor page on this website you can find an interactive calculation system.

Can the nareCon 1000 only be operated with a renewable energy biogas facility?

No. The nareCon 1000 can also be operated on farms that would like to refine the manure they produce.

How and where should I store the fertiliser made?

When using the nareCon 1000, several substances are generated:

  1. The solid (approx. 30 - 40 % of the digestate input), that can be stored in a similar way to solid manure. In this case, existing silage storage areas can be used. It is then distributed by a muck spreader.
  2. The ammonium sulphate (depending on nutrient level approx. 0,5 - 1,0 % of the digestate input).
Depending on the facility operator's specifications, the product can then be stored in IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers) and then distributed by a crop protection sprayer for example.
It could also be made into a granulate. This granulate can then be stored in big bags (and distributed in the fertiliser spreader).
The ammonium sulphate can also be incorporated into the solid (and then distributed in the muck spreader).
  3. The method with calcium carbonate is similar to ammonium sulphate (depending on the nutrient level, approx. 0,5 - 1,0 % of the digestate input is calcium carbonate).

What is the eco value of the solid that forms humus?

The solid is an excellent water retainer. You can find the results of studies on using the fertilisers produced for plant cultivation here on our website.

What stipulations do I have to fulfil in order to commission the system and who can I contact?

Our joint aim is to ensure that the nareCon 1000 is commissioned and operated smoothly.
As a result, narema GmbH will help you with all the formalities associated with applications and commissioning. As an operator, you will be informed of what you have to do when the contract is signed. Would you like to know more about the services we offer?

What makes the nareCon 1000 different from conventional digestate treatment systems?
  1. It attracts the CHP bonus
In the German trade magazine "energie pflanzen" (issue 2/2009, Forstfachverlag, page 35), Prof. Kropshofer points out that fertiliser production must be in place to obtain the €0.03 CHP bonus.
The author doubts whether it is necessary merely to dry the digestate to obtain the CHP bonus under the German Renewable Energies Act.
The nareCon 1000 produces fertilisers and will definitely qualify for the CHP bonus under the amended Renewable Energies Act 2009. This has been attested by an agricultural expert report provided by us.
  2. Effective treatment of nutrients
In some digestate facilities, the highly volatile nitrogen compounds are emitted as ammonia into the atmosphere or changed back into water by a cleaning facility. On the other hand, this water is a significant quantity. A substantial reduction in the quantity produced is often not achieved in this process.
The nareCon 1000 achieves a reduction in the amount produced of approx. 60%. As a result, storage and usage of the fertiliser can be perfectly aligned to plant growth in the vegetation period.
