Digestate in biogas plants - profitable return for sustainable innovation
Niebüll/Nordfriesland, April 2009. If it's a question of renewable energies and biogas plants in particular, innovative processes are the order of the day. In renewable energy plants, storage and distribution of digestate are costly. narema GmbH has collaborated on solutions with scientific institutions: reducing quantities, saving electricity costs, using waste engine heat, cutting CO2-emissions, increasing the quality of the fertiliser. The nareCon 1000 system in a container-type construction will in the future minimise digestate by more than 50% and give operators an automatic system.
The nareCon 1000 is aimed at operators of biogas plants that want, or have to increase the profitability of the process as a whole. narema GmbH CEO, Petra Hansen, and Rainer Setter, have developed a method to ensure economical and ecological output throughout the process.
Is all digestate the same? No. narema GmbH addresses a weak point inherent in biogas facilities and counters costly digestate with an over 50% reduction in quantities and much more economical recycling of the fertiliser. Based on established components, solid and liquid substances that can be stored and used in agriculture are generated through heating. The process is aligned to the CHP in the biogas facility and therefore uses the existing process energy from biomass recycling. The whole procedure requires no chemical additives. This is the green factor that narema GmbH's registered-for-patent process is intent on pursuing. Expert reports have verified that the end products can be used for plant cultivation and are therefore eligible for the CHP bonus.
The amended German Renewable Energies Act came into force at the beginning of 2009. It regulates heat usage that attracts the CHP bonus and provides planning assurance for up to 20 years due to the subsidised feed-in tariff.
For biogas facility operators, familiarisation with the nareCon 1000 couldn't be easier: On its website www.narema.de, narema GmbH provides a calculator and will draw up a customised business analysis at any time on request.
